Shaun Alexander is one of the most revered Alabama football players of all time.
He dominated the 1990s in Tuscaloosa during a time when the Crimson Tide was not winning national championships.
He was a two-time 1,000-yard rusher in four years, including a single-season school record 1,383 yards in 1999.
Alexander carried the Tide to a Southeastern Conference Championship in ’99, while getting first-team All-SEC, first-team All-American, and SEC Player of the Year honors. Alexander is third all-time for career rushing yards (3,565) and third for rushing touchdowns (41) in school history. He turned in a nine-year career in the National Football League, including eight seasons (2000-07) with the Seattle Seahawks.
