Former Alabama prep standouts heading for NFL Combine

After dominating his competition at Jacksonville State, Darius Jackson will try to show NFL general managers, coaches and scouts that he has what it takes to do the same in the pros at the NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis this week.

The Ohio Valley Conference Defensive Player of the Year for the past two seasons, Jackson also won the Buck Buchanan Award as the best defensive player in NCAA FCS in 2017.

A collegiate defensive end, Jackson will work with the outside linebacker at the combine.

Before playing for the Gamecocks, Jackson was a standout linebacker at McAdory and helped the Yellow Jackets win their first 14 games of the 2012 season before they lost to Spanish Fort in the AHSAA Class 5A championship game.
