Former 3-star tight end plans to leave Alabama football via NCAA transfer portal

The mass exodus of players for Alabama football continues.

Danny Lewis Jr., a former three-star tight end from Louisiana, announced to Pete Nakos of On3 Sports through his agency — Lionheart Sports — that he plans on entering the NCAA transfer portal. Lewis came in the 2022 recruiting class and has been with the Crimson Tide for three seasons. The 6-foot-5 257-pounder did not record a reception this season, but played in 12 games.

Lewis joins Kobe Prentice (wide receiver), Kendrick Law (wide receiver), Caleb Odom (wide receiver), Miles McVay (offensive lineman) Jehiem Oatis (defensive lineman), Jahlil Hurley (cornerback), and Keanu Koht (outside linebacker) as the eighth player for the Tide to pursue the transfer portal.
