TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The University of Alabama football team took part in its first scrimmage of the fall on Saturday afternoon inside Bryant-Denny Stadium.
The scrimmage lasted roughly 110 plays and was just over two hours under overcast skies with a light drizzle throughout. The temperatures for the day hung in the 80s.
“I was certainly pleased with a lot of the effort we had here today,” said head coach Nick Saban. “Our guys competed well. There was some really good, physical play with big hitting. The execution, for a first scrimmage, was probably okay but not where it needs to be.
