Football is king at the University of Alabama, once again.
The Crimson Tide won the SEC championship last season. Even in falling short of the national championship with a College Football Playoff semifinal loss to Ohio State, the football program ranked No. 1 among all UA athletic department teams for the 2014-15 school year as voted on by the Tidesports.com staff.
Football beat out the Alabama gymnastics and softball teams as the top program after placing fifth in last year’s voting.
The men’s cross country program made the biggest leap, up five spots to No. 12.
