When undefeated Alabama meets Florida for the SEC championship Saturday, it will be doing so thanks to the help of a handful of players from the opposing team’s state.
The Crimson Tide has four players from the state of Florida – senior safety Eddie Jackson (Lauderdale Lakes), sophomore safety Ronnie Harrison (Tallahassee), sophomore wide receiver Calvin Ridley (Coconut Creek) and freshman cornerback Aaron Robinson (Deerfield Beach) – and all of them have made an impact.
Jackson won’t play after suffering a season-ending broken leg against Texas A&M on October 22, but was arguably the team’s biggest defensive leader and scored two touchdowns as a punt return specialist.
