The University of Alabama softball team will learn its path to the Women's College World Series Sunday night when the field of 64 teams for the national championship tournament is announced.
UA is hopeful that it can play its way to the World Series without leaving the confines of Rhoads Stadium.
Alabama, ranked No. 4 in both national polls and No. 3 in the official NCAA RPI (Ratings Percentage Index) rankings released last week, expects to receive a coveted top-eight seed. The top 16 seeds host regionals and the top eight will host in the super regional round if they advance.
