Ex-Tide QB Blake Sims was scout-team Trevor Knight in practice this week

If Alabama beats Texas A&M on Saturday, Jalen Hurts won’t be the only quarterback who helped the Crimson Tide win.

Former quarterback Blake Sims served as Alabama’s scout-team quarterback in practice this week to simulate Texas A&M’s Trevor Knight ahead of the Tide’s top-10 matchup against the Aggies in Tuscaloosa.

ESPN’s Sam Ponder announced Sims’ participation during a “College GameDay” segment live from just outside Bryant-Denny Stadium in Tuscaloosa on Saturday morning. Sims also appeared in the segment, dressed in his old No. 6 Alabama uniform, which included shoulder pads and a helmet.

Sims, who is 5-foot-11 and 218 pounds, is around the same size as Knight (6-foot-1, 215 pounds) and has a running ability at quarterback.
