Former Michigan State commit and four-star Dayton, Ohio receiver Joseph Scates has reopened his recruitment just days after getting an offer from Alabama.
Scates made the trip to Alabama over the weekend for a Junior Day with teammates, including three-star running back Tavion Thomas (who also has an Alabama offer). There, head coach Nick Saban offered Scates.
He tweeted his decommitment from Michigan State, but added that the Alabama offer wasn't the reason for that.
"The visit was amazing," Scates said in a message. "It was kind of a once-in-a-lifetime experience visiting the No. 1 school in the country and also a dream school.
