A familiar face inside the Alabama football facility could return to the program as an on-field assistant coach. According to the Tuscaloosa News, Joe Pannunzio has interviewed for the tight ends coach and special teams coordinator position.
The Tuscaloosa News reports that Pannunzio would likely take the job if offered. He was previously with the Crimson Tide from 2011-2014 as director of football operations.
If hired, Annunzio would replace tackles/tight ends coach Mario Cristobal. The former assistant coach for Nick Saban left to become the co-offensive coordinator and offensive line coach at Oregon.
For the past two years, Pannunzio has been the director of personnel operations with the Philadelphia Eagles.
