Former Alabama cornerback and kick returner Javier Arenas is heading to the Canadian Football League. Arenas will join the Ottawa REDBLACKS.

Arenas last played in the NFL for the Atlanta Falcons in 2014. He was a preseason member of the New York Jets in 2015 and Buffalo Bills in 2016. He was cut from both teams before the regular season.
He was a consensus All-American on the Tide’s 2009 BCS championship-winning team. He was drafted in the second round by the Kansas City Chiefs in 2010.
