Eryk Anders got his wish, even though the former Alabama linebacker lost his most recent UFC fight by TKO.
After scoring a knockout of Tim Williams in a middleweight bout at UFC Fight Night 135 on Aug. 25, Anders lobbied to be matched against Elias "The Spartan" Theodorou at UFC 231 in Toronto on Dec. 8 as a replacement for Antonio Carlos Jr., who had to withdraw because of an injury.
After mixed martial arts media outlets reported that Anders had been selected as Theodorou's replacement, Ultimate Fighting Championship confirmed the Anders-Theodorou middleweight fight as part of the main card of the event at Scotiabank Arena.
