Draft analyst: Alabama LB Rashaan Evans part of ‘new breed of NFL linebackers’

Alabama linebacker Rashaan Evans was one of 33 consensus five-star prospects in the 2014 recruiting cycle. He seems likely to be the eighth to be selected in the first round of the NFL draft.

Seven five-star prospects from the ’14 class were taken in the first round last year: Myles Garrett, Leonard Fournette, Solomon Thomas, Jamal Adams, Marlon Humphrey, Adoree Jackson and Jabrill Peppers. All left college after their junior seasons.

Evans remained at Alabama for his senior season and it paid off – big. Not only did he earn a national championship ring, he put himself in prime position to be drafted in the first round.
