Dont'a Hightower hurt, Tyreek Hill historic in NFL opener

The Kansas City Chiefs opened the NFL's 2017 season by knocking off the defending Super Bowl champion New England Patriots 42-27 on Thursday night.

Former West Alabama standout Tyreek Hill caught seven passes for 133 yards and one touchdown for Kansas City, which scored more points than had ever been tallied against one of Bill Belichick's New England teams in his 307 games as the Patriots' coach.

Adding to the tough opening night for the Patriots was an injury to defensive captain Dont'a Hightower.

The Patriots kept Hightower sidelined throughout their four preseason games to have the former Alabama All-American healthy for the season.
