Dinich: Why all things are not equal in first CFP rankings

If you're an Alabama fan, you're used to this.

If you're an Iowa fan, you're used to this, too -- for all the wrong reasons.

If you're a Florida fan, raise your hand. Because you should have some questions.

The No. 10 Gators lost on the road to the selection committee's No. 2 team, LSU. No. 4 Alabama lost at home to the committee's No. 18 team, Ole Miss -- a team Florida handled easily in a 38-10 win.

'Splain that one in Gainesville.

"I think if you go look at Alabama and how they won those games that they've won against quality opponents," Long said, "and I think that sends a strong message of why we ranked Alabama higher than Florida.
