After starting the season with five scholarship running backs, Alabama now has two to finish the year.
Significant injuries to Jase McClellan, Roydell Williams, and Camar Wheaton have positioned Trey Sanders for a chance to display his skills to Crimson Tide fans. He arrived on campus in 2019 as a highly sought-after five-star from Florida.
Sanders entered the program with Heisman Trophy aspirations, but injuries prevented him from taking off. The sophomore worked his back from a car accident and recorded his first rushing touchdown versus Miami. He looked good in replacing Williams against New Mexico State, totaling 66 yards rushing with one score on 12 carries.
