Derrick Henry and Minkah Fitzpatrick Earn SEC Weekly Award Honors

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - Alabama junior running back Derrick Henry and freshman cornerback Minkah Fitzpatrick earned SEC Player of the Week recognition the Southeastern Conference announced Monday morning following the Crimson Tide’s 41-23 win at No. 9/10 Texas A&M. This is the third consecutive week that an Alabama player has been honored by the league.

Henry was named the Southeastern Conference Offensive Player of the Week for the third time this season after rushing for 236 yards and two touchdowns on 32 carries against the Aggies. The 236 yards and 32 carries both eclipsed his previous career highs, and marked the first time an Alabama running back has surpassed the 200-yard mark since Trent Richardson in 2011.
