Most would assume Lane Kiffin was headed toward a coaching career because it was in his blood.
His father is the legendary defensive coordinator Monte Kiffin.
To hear David Carr tell it though, Lane Kiffin was pushed into coaching by another factor: Lack of snaps while a senior quarterback at Fresno State.
In an interview with Watch Stadium, Carr reminisced about his time in school, where he roomed with Kiffin.
"Lane was great," Carr said. "Lane was everything you'd expect Lane to be. A fifth year guy that didn't want to give his job up to a freshman"
"Then, I started taking reps from him in practice," Carr said.
