During the NFL preseason, Darius Jackson and Bo Scarbrough were thought to be competing for the No. 3 running-back job behind starter Ezekiel Elliott and Rod Smith. But when the Cowboys trimmed their 90-player preseason roster to the regular-season limit of 53, neither Jackson nor Scarbrough made the team.
Dallas did pick up Jackson for its practice squad, but he stayed there only briefly before being signed away by the Green Bay Packers. The Cowboys signed Scarbrough to fill the vacancy on the practice squad.
On Tuesday, the Cowboys announced they had waived Scarbrough.
