Cornerbacks talk.
They're known to chirp the guy across the line in those high-stakes, cat vs. mouse battles between defender and receiver.
That's what makes Anthony Averett and Levi Wallace different. Think Deion Sanders, Josh Norman and Richard Sherman, only the complete opposite.
Alabama's two starting cornerbacks have quietly built a reputation for their brevity while winning jobs on a team packed with confident talent.
Wallace only smiles when asked about his lack of chatter on the field. Safety Minkah Fitzpatrick wondered the same thing about his on-field persona.
"On the sideline, he's like, 'Levi, you and Ant are just so calm all the time,'" Wallace said.
