Cyrus Jones released again by New England Patriots

Cornerback Cyrus Jones has been released by the New England Patriots for the second time this month. The NFL team announced the transaction on Saturday night.

On Sept. 1, New England waived Jones when it reduced its 90-player preseason roster to the regular-season limit of 53. Jones spent the next two weeks on the practice squad of the Baltimore Ravens before the Patriots re-signed him on Sept. 19.

Jones played against the Detroit Lions on Sept. 23 and the Miami Dolphins on Sunday, totaling 10 defensive snaps and 12 special-teams plays.
