When cornerback Cyrus Jones was released by the New England Patriots on Saturday, the former Alabama standout went home, as do many players when the NFL's preseason ends and they no longer have a job.
But Jones went home to a spot in the NFL. The Baltimore native signed on to join the Ravens' practice squad on Monday.
"It was exciting, surreal," Jones told the Baltimore Sun in the Ravens' locker room on Wednesday. "I couldn't believe it. Just a blessing. I'm blessed with the opportunity to come back home and represent for my city in the biggest way possible.
