It's early, but the University of Alabama women's basketball team appears to have grown up a lot since it finished last season winning one of its final 11 games.
Four of the starters in last Friday's 96-44 victory over Alabama A&M were sophomores. All four, along with three bench players, finished the game with at least 10 points.
“It's exciting to see this group mature every day,” coach Kristy Curry said. “I liked our fast pace and the way we spaced the floor. Good things happened.”
Alabama will host Appalachian State today in Foster Auditorium.
The opener also marked the second straight game, counting the exhibition, that Alabama scored more than 90 points.
