It’s become a tradition of sorts for Alabama Crimson Tide fans: Before bellying up to the Iron Bowl on Thanksgiving Saturday, the fans are given dessert the week before, and in the spirit of Thanksgiving, it usually comes with a good helping of complaining about what they were served.
The annual game against an FCS cupcake has been in place since November 2009. (To be fair, a lot of other SEC teams do the same thing. This week, four SEC teams are playing FCS opponents.) Alabama is 7-0 in these games, outscoring the opponents by a combined score of 355-48, but don’t tell Nick Saban that.
