On a day filled with graduation commencement ceremonies and jubilant parents, more than 2,200 fans filled the stands of Foster Auditorium in anticipation for the Crimson Tide women’s basketball team’s next victory.
What the fans got was so much more. A dismal first quarter may have deterred some, but the ladies came back out in the second quarter to take down Georgetown, 78-66, on Saturday. The holiday season influenced a good portion of the game as songs, dances and a Toys For Tots teddy bear throw kept the crowd lively.
“It was just a great cause,” Alabama coach Kristy Curry said.
