OKLAHOMA CITY – In 20 years, the University of Alabama softball program has accumulated a lot of history.
The Crimson Tide has won a national championship and several SEC titles. It is the only program in the country to have advanced to the super regional round of the NCAA Tournament, as one of the final 16 teams alive, in each of the 12 years since that format was adopted. Alabama has made 11 trips to the Women's College World Series, making the finals twice and the semifinals three other times.
But there's one thing that hasn't been done: No senior class has ever made it to the World Series every year.
