NASHVILLE, Tenn. | The Alabama men’s tennis team wrapped up play at the Commodore Scramble on Sunday where the Crimson Tide finished with three wins on the final day of play. In all UA collected 11 wins over the course of the three-day event.
In doubles, junior Hayes Brewer and sophomore Sam Edwards outlasted Vanderbilt sophomores Baker Newman and Tate Allwardt, 8-7(4), while the Commodore duo of senior Rhys Johnson and junior Pen Binet topped Alabama sophomore Matthew Rossouw and redshirt freshman Langford Hills, 8-6.
Edwards and Rossouw added wins for the Tide in singles with Edwards topping Middle Tennessee senior Robin Ruethmueller in three sets, 6-1, 1-6, 6-2, while Rossouw posted a 7-5, 6-1 victory over Louisville freshman Michael Quang.
