BIRMINGHAM | The No. 16-ranked University of Alabama men’s golf team carded a second-round 268 on Monday afternoon, tying the second-lowest team score in program history. Alabama leads the field going into today’s third and final round at the Jerry Pate National Intercollegiate at Old Overton Club.
Alabama is at 14-under 546 with round scores of 278-268 in Monday’s first and second rounds. The Crimson Tide have an eight-stroke lead ahead of No. 3-ranked Auburn (554). Top-ranked Florida State (555) is third, while No. 23 Florida (558) and UNLV (566) round out the top five.
The Tide’s Robby Shelton leads the field at 10-under, shooting 66-64—130.
