At the time, Anfernee Jennings' comment seemed unrealistic.
It was made at SEC Media Days in mid-July, not long after Terrell Lewis tore his ACL.
"With our training staff and his mindset right now, I don't see him missing the whole season," said Jennings, the Crimson Tide's standout redshirt junior outside linebacker.
Crazy, right?
Maybe not.
As ridiculous as it would be for a player to get back that quickly from an ACL injury, the belief that Lewis could be back at some point this season goes beyond just Jennings.
"With Terrell, he's battling his butt off to get back, just like last season," defensive coordinator Tosh Lupoi said Saturday of Lewis, a junior outside linebacker who was viewed as a potential 2019 first-round draft pick before the injury.
