Seemingly out of the blue on Tuesday, Dallas Cowboys owner and general manager Jerry Jones mentioned he wasn't closing the door on linebacker Rolando McClain returning to the NFL team this season.
McClain is serving a 10-game suspension imposed by the NFL for violating the league's Policy and Program on Substances of Abuse. McClain would be eligible to return to practice on Nov. 14.
But McClain hasn't been heard from, at least publically, since the Cowboys' mandatory minicamp in June – the only part of Dallas' offseason program that he attended. He didn't report for training camp, and Dallas put him on the reserve/did not report list, where he has remained.
