Commanders DL Phidarian Mathis suffers season ending injury

Not even one full game into his NFL career, and Phidarian Mathis’ rookie campaign appears to be over.

During the Washington Commander’s Week 1 matchup with the Jacksonville Jaguars, Mathis suffered a lower-body injury that required him to be carted off the field.

On Monday, following further evaluation, it was reported by NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport that Mathis had suffered a torn meniscus and is headed for season-ending surgery.
