Not even one full game into his NFL career, and Phidarian Mathis’ rookie campaign appears to be over.
During the Washington Commander’s Week 1 matchup with the Jacksonville Jaguars, Mathis suffered a lower-body injury that required him to be carted off the field.
On Monday, following further evaluation, it was reported by NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport that Mathis had suffered a torn meniscus and is headed for season-ending surgery.
