Alabama now enters the SEC Tournament in Baton Rouge, La., as the No. 3 seed and will begin play Thursday. It will face the winner of Wednesday’s Georgia-Ole Miss contest.
Alabama (41-11, 17-7 SEC) and Arkansas (16-37, 1-23 SEC) only tallied a combined five hits throughout the first six innings before the Crimson Tide strung together three hits in the seventh inning. That ultimately allowed Hays to drive in Marisa Runyon on an RBI single for the lone run of the day.
Alabama starter Sydney Littlejohn (15-1) threw a complete game shutout in the circle, allowing just four hits, while Arkansas starter Haley Meinen (1-8) also went the distance in the tough-luck loss in the regular season finale.
