When Texas A&M takes the field for its 3:00 p.m. SEC matchup against South Carolina on Saturday, the Aggies will be wearing helmets inspired by Bear Bryant.
No, there won't be houndstooth on the helmets.
But, the headgear and throwback uniforms will pay homage to the legendary "Junction Boys" that Bryant coached at Texas A&M in the 1950s. Bryant was the coach in College Station before coming to Alabama, and his 1956 team went 9-0-1. That team went through sessions of grueling training that toughened them up and gave them the Junction Boys nickname.
The old-school helmets and throwback uniforms are awesome n their authenticity.
