When Hurricane Katrina destroyed the home of D.J. Fluker and his family in New Orleans, it sent them on an odyssey along the Gulf Coast as they sought a permanent home in the wake of the devastating storm.
During part of that journey, Fluker attended McGill-Toolen in Mobile. Fluker left with his family for Biloxi for his junior year of high school, and he was at Foley High School as a senior before heading to Alabama and then the NFL.
