Auburn flaunted a new twist on an old package during its homecoming win against Mercer.
The Tigers utilized their familiar Wildcat formation in the 24-10 win, though this time it featured running back Kamryn Pettway handling the direct snaps as opposed to previous iterations of the formation that saw Kerryon Johnson and, briefly, Chandler Cox behind center.
"Just a new little wrinkle that Chip (Lindsey)'s done in the past," Auburn coach Gus Malzahn said after the game.
It was the first time in his Auburn career that Pettway was the recipient of direct snaps in a Wildcat package.
