But first, let’s talk about the quarterback competition.

That is, let’s talk about the lack of one. Repeat after me, folks: Jake Coker, warts and all, is the starting quarterback of the 2015 Alabama Crimson Tide.

I bring this up in part because of a conversation that started in yesterday’s edition of Josh Chatham’s routinely excellent Initial Impressions series. After another seemingly uneven performance by Coker, there is still a segment of the fan base that thinks Cooper Bateman should be at the helm.
