It isn’t uncommon, once colleges begin football practice in August, for rosters to shrink by a player or two on a given day. It’s hot. Depth charts, to utter that which usually isn’t named, start to become clear to players and if opportunity seems slim, it isn’t unusual for players to look elsewhere.
In June, it’s a little more unusual, but that’s what happened yesterday, right at the start of the slowest six weeks of the year as far as the college football news cycle is concerned. Two players from the Mobile area who went through spring football and finished (presumably) the spring semester, running back DeSherrius Flowers and defensive back Jonathan Cook are no longer with the program.
