For years, the University of Alabama golf team lived in limbo, not exactly homeless but without the sort of permanent lodgings where you could invite guests over for a few days. The local county clubs were generous with help but hosting a premier college event was beyond the team's reach unless it went to Birmingham.
That is all about to change.
Alabama will host the NCAA South Regional at the Ol' Colony course beginning on Monday, the gateway to the NCAA Championships and, according to UA head golf coach Jay Seawell, "a true dream.
