CECIL HURT: Georgia teetering on tightrope of success

Mark Richt is walking a tightrope this week. The entire Georgia program, assuming they can fit on a wire, is walking along with him.

On the one hand, Georgia can’t make Saturday’s SEC football game against Alabama into something too big. Mark Richt, the Georgia coach, stayed firmly on that side of the slender wire on Tuesday, trying to avoid slipping on the thick layer of hype that has already started to accumulate.

“I thought yesterday (at practice) we were very business as usual,” Richt said. “That’s what we’re trying, to keep everybody’s mind on their business, on their assignment, on their responsibility and not anything else.
