During the Tuesday’s morning session of the Southern Baptist Convention’s 2019 Annual Meeting, a distinctive and powerful voice filled the hall. Standing at microphone 3A a messenger from the Triune Baptist Church in Arrington, Tennessee moved that the Southern Baptist Convention request the Executive Committee amend the Business and Financial Plan of the Southern Baptist Convention to “Strengthen the fiscal accountability of the SBC entities to the Convention and to promote greater transparency regarding the use of cooperative program dollars.”
The messenger was Morris Chapman.
Chapman has a distinguished history. He is a former president of the Southern Baptist Convention, former president of the Executive Committee and a lifetime of service to evangelism and stewardship.
