Cam Sims working to make Washington Redskins' roster as undrafted rookie

During his four seasons at Alabama, wide receiver Cam Sims caught 41 passes for 467 yards and two touchdowns, never exceeding 14 receptions in a year.

Those kinds of numbers don't usually result in a place in the NFL Draft, and they didn't for Sims. But at 6-foot-5, Sims tantalized pro talent evaluators, and he attracted a free-agent offer from the Washington Redskins.

Sims made a good impression during Washington's offseason program, too, with coach Jay Gruden singling him out among the undrafted players.

"Cam has stood out at wide receiver. I think (Danny) Johnson stood out at corner," Gruden said.
