Brown leads Alabama relay to finals; Gayle advances

EUGENE, Ore. | University of Alabama athletes had chances to qualify to finals in four events on Wednesday and managed to qualify the first two of them midway through the first day of competition at the 2015 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships at Hayward Field on the campus of the University of Oregon. The men’s 4x400-meter relay semifinal was slated to be contested later Friday evening.

A foursome running for the first time as a group in competition in the men’s 4x100-meter relay advanced to Friday’s final as the team of Tony Brown, Steven Gayle, Ahmed Ali and Tadashi Pinder ran 39.
