Tradition is always strong at Alabama, and this time it’s brought the Crimson Tide the son of a legend from one of the school’s most memorable championship teams.
Braxton Barker, the son of former national champion quarterback Jay Barker, committed to Alabama late Monday, announcing his decision on Twitter.

Barker (5 feet 11, 175 pounds), a pro-style quarterback from Birmingham (Ala.) Spain Park, will be joining the program as a non-scholarship player. For Tide fans, though, seeing the name “Barker” listed at quarterback will stir memories.
