Braxton Barker saw his father, Jay, become a legend for Alabama football in 1992.
He watched his dad be the quarterback for a team that won a national championship.
Barker came to the University of Alabama as a walk-on quarterback in 2018 from Spain Park High School in the Birmingham area. He competed well in practices and spring games, but Barker got his first opportunity in the 2021 regular season versus New Mexico State. He completed one pass for 10 yards at Bryant-Denny Stadium. He soaked up knowledge from Jalen Hurts, Tua Tagovailoa, Mac Jones, and Bryce Young at the position.
