Peyton Grantham waited nearly two years to hit another home run at Rhoads Stadium.
The University of Alabama softball team's sophomore third baseman sat out last season recovering from a knee injury sustained in the fall after her freshman campaign.
She doesn't have to wait any more. Grantham cranked a home run in the fourth inning of the fourth-ranked Crimson Tide's home opener on Wednesday to help UA to an 8-0, mercy-rule victory over Troy.
Alabama improved to 12-1 and extended its winning streak to 10. Troy fell to 7-4.
Grantham's homer came in a big fourth inning where Alabama batted around and plated seven runs.
