Chris Peterson always had a bit of a reputation.
Go back to his early days as Boise State's offensive coordinator and his deceptive practices begin. Don't let the buttoned-up look fool you, Petersen isn't afraid to step outside convention.
The trick-play wizard reputation still follows him into the Dec. 31 Peach Bowl semifinal with Alabama. This was more of a regional status until going national with three of the more legendary play calls pushed Boise State past favored Oklahoma in the 2007 Fiesta Bowl.
It has a psychological impact to this day since his opponents always know he could have something cooked up at any moment.
