TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – A four-run eighth in game one followed by a seven-inning shutout in game two helped Alabama complete the sweep of Alcorn State in Tuesday’s doubleheader at Sewell-Thomas Stadium. With the pair of wins, the Crimson Tide improves to 18-11 on the season, including a 12-7 mark in non-conference play.
“Game one was a rough one to get,” said Alabama head coach Mitch Gaspard. “I told the team that those are games where you’ve just got to find a way win. It wasn’t pretty by any stretch, and we broke down in some areas and fell behind late.
