TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – In a matchup that featured strong pitching, Alabama baseball fell, 3-1, to No. 21 Houston on a wet Friday evening at Sewell-Thomas Stadium. The Cougars collected a pair of runs in the top of the ninth to steal the victory in the series opener.
“A lot of credit goes to (Andrew) Lantrip,” said Alabama head coach Mitch Gaspard. “I thought he pitched well. He pitched us the same way, as he climbed the ladder and we chased the ball up. Offensively tonight, our performance was just not enough.”
Houston starter Andrew Lantrip (2-2) worked 8.
