HATTIESBURG, Miss. – Alabama baseball fell, 9-2, at Southern Miss on Tuesday evening. The Crimson Tide arms allowed a season-high 15 hits leading to nine runs in the midweek contest.
“Southern Miss has a really good club and they played really well tonight,” said Alabama head coach Mitch Gaspard. “They outplayed us, particularly from the middle of the game on. Their offense was really good tonight, and we didn’t have an answer for them.”
The Tide allowed a season-high 15 hits and tied a season-high mark with nine runs allowed. Alabama starter Mike Oczypok (2-1) suffered his first loss of the season after allowing six runs (five earned) on eight hits and one walk.
