The Alabama baseball team traveled to the plains to take on instate rival Auburn this weekend in a three game series. The Tide had won the last three series in Auburn leading up to this year, including winning eight straight games. With Tiger ace, Tanner Burns, out with a shoulder injury, the Tide looked to extend that streak. Bama Friday night pitcher Sam Finnerty was coming off six scoreless innings last week in beating LSU. Those plans were waylaid quickly when Finnerty had to leave the game after just one inning, and the Tide lost the opener 5-1. Game two was a thrilling 7-6 victory for Bama, setting up the rubber game of the series on Sunday.
